Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is handled by the third-party service that provides results; our servers do not retain a copy of those queries. A message sent to us contains only the information included in that message and is used to respond.
Automatically Collected Details
Hosting services generate ordinary server logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregate to operate the reference and understand use of its pages. Basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement may rely on cookies or similar technology.
How Information Is Used
Information supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and improvement of the reference. We do not sell visitor lists or construct individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links lead to county and state record portals, library collections, archives, and outside search services. The policy of the destination service governs information submitted there. Sponsored search results are likewise provided by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process server logs on our behalf. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Data is disclosed only when valid legal process requires disclosure.
Safeguards and Retention
The reference uses an encrypted connection and retains logs only for the purposes described here. It has no visitor accounts, passwords, or resident profile associated with a visitor.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The reference is intended for adults and does not target children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data can depend on where a visitor lives. Research did not identify a general Ohio consumer-data-broker deletion or universal opt-out law. Because this reference retains very little, a request can be directed through the Contact page and will be checked against the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Public records held by Ohio state, county, or city custodians remain outside our control. Ohio Revised Code section 149.45 provides a separate route to request online redaction of specified personal information from the public office maintaining the document.
